EDIT:
Our subscription has officially expired. Until we are able to renew, we are not going to be able to do any user features or polls. If someone is feeling generous, your support would be most appreciated.
Before our subscription ran out, our submission policy poll was 21 in favor of changing to the new submission policy and 2 against. This was 91% for and 9% against. 23 members makes up about 10% of our group but I will have to assume that the majority has spoken here.
Our new submission policy is as follows:
All members are allowed one submission per week. This submission will be processed by a Portrets admin and, if they feel that it meets a certain quality threshold, it will be submitted to the Portrets' gallery.
If the submission does not meet these requirements, a rejection note will be returned to the member stating the reasons for the rejection. This is intended to help improve your portraiture.
If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to note the club.
Until the next time, I look forward to your submission...

Hello to all Portrets members,
First things first...
Our subscription is almost expired. If someone would be so kind as to donate a subscription to the club, it would be appreciated and would not go unrecognised.
Secondly...
I have created a poll regarding Portrets' submission policy.
Up to this point, Portrets has always posted submissions without scrutiny. As long as the deviation was a portrait of some sort, the art was submitted to the gallery.
Here are my thoughts...
I first joined Portrets because the art I saw on the groups page was of interest to me and I saw that by studying the group's gallery I could improve my own art. This was extremely helpful to me. I want Portrets to be the same for all our members. A group of portrait artists who can learn from each other's art and appreciate various techniques and mediums used to create that art.
Here is my proposition...
All members will be allowed one submission per week.
Before we get alarmed, let me state that this is intended to improve the quality of work we see in our gallery. We should expect Portrets to be a standard of excellence.
I have been featuring some portrait artists whom I feel excel at their art. I do this for the benefit of the group... To make you all aware of quality artists and their work.
My desire is to raise the expectations of members... Even in their own art...
So, to reiterate...
All submissions will be critiqued by a Portrets' admin and determined to meet a quality standard. If it does, it will be submitted to the Portrets' gallery. If it does not, a note will be returned to the member with a reason stating why it was rejected.
I will let you all decide... But I do encourage you all to allow this change. It will benefit us all as artists.
Thanks,

I will be featuring another portrait artist in the next few days... I hope you all are enjoying the features so far. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Also, any suggestions for improvement of Portrets would be most appreciated as well...
